Uproars were witnessed in the Parliament as the proceedings began on the sixth day of the winter session. 200 MPs from all major opposition parties staged a ‘dharna’ in the Parliament premises demanding the presence of the Prime Minister in the Parliament and taking the decision back. 4. Army launches massive assault along LoC a day after Pakistan mutilates soldier

5. India's biggest-ever layoff? L&T sheds 14,000 employees
In what is described as the biggest ever layoffs, India’s leading engineering company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has retrenched its 14,000 employees. Facing a massive slowdown, the company has taken this step to downsize its workforce to make it right sized. Giving the reasons for this step, the company statement says that the step was necessary as the company had already taken many digitization and productivity enhancement measures, which made the huge workforce unnecessary. 6. Tribal milk producers in Gujarat hit hard by demonetization
The RBI ban on exchange or deposit of high denomination notes in district cooperative banks has hit the tribal milk producers and farmers of Gujarat really hard. Gujarat has a large network of cooperative banks in the rural and semi-urban areas. Because of the ban, farmers and milk producers can neither get their notes exchanged nor are they getting cash from the cooperative milk societies. The well known Carnatic music legend M Balamuralikrishna passed away in Chennai on Tuesday. People will remember him for his famous music video on Doordarshan, where he, along with many other artists sang the patriotic song ‘Mile sur mera tumhara’.
