The US has clearly warned Pakistan saying that its ISI is not taking action against all terrorist groups. It said that it would not hesitate to act alone to destroy terror networks in Pakistan. While Pakistan is a key partner to the US in counter-terrorism, its tolerance to some terrorist groups is not acceptable to the US. This is in stark contrast to the approach taken by China.

Two-day Global Investors Summit in Indore ends
The two-day Global Investors Summit of Madhya Pradesh ended in Indore on Sunday. While Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated the event on the first day, the closing ceremony was held in the presence of Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. The state has signed many MoUs during the two-day event, including seven MoUs in the field of Renewable Energy.

Assembly Elections in the five states may be held in Feb-March next year
The Election Commission of India (EC) has drawn a tentative election schedule for the five states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand. UP is likely to have a seven-phase election, whereas polling in the remaining states is likely to be held on a single day. The EC will take a final call shortly after discussions with security agencies and the state police. In recent years, demands are rising to conduct all Indian elections in one (same) year, reducing the time and cost to the State, and avoiding frequent derailment of national focus.

भारत निर्वाचन आयोग (EC) ने आगामी वर्ष उत्तर प्रदेश समेत पांच राज्यों – गोवा, पंजाब, मणिपुर और उत्तराखंड, में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों की रूपरेखा लगभग तैयार कर ली है। जहाँ उत्तरप्रदेश में चुनाव सात चरणों में हो सकते हैं वहीं शेष चार राज्यों में एक दिन में मतदान संपन्न कराया जा सकता है। हालांकि इस पर अंतिम फैसला चुनाव आयोग द्वारा सुरक्षा एजेंसियों और राज्यों की पुलिस से विचार-विमर्श के बाद ही लिया जाएगा। हाल के वर्षों में मांग तेज़ हुई है कि सभी भारतीय चुनावों को (विधानसभाओं के, और संसद के भी) एक साथ करवाया जाये, जिससे समय और खर्चों की भारी बचत होगी, और राष्ट्रीय लक्ष्यों पर पैना फोकस भी बना रहेगा।

India defeated arch rival Pakistan by 3 goals to 2 in the 2016 Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament. In their earlier match, India had played a draw against South Korea. At half time, India were leading by 1-0. But in the second half Pakistan scored two goals in quick succession and took the lead. However, India fought back and won the match 3-2.

Finance Ministry refuses to share black money assessment report
The Finance Ministry has declined to share the report submitted to it on the quantum of black money held by Indians inside the country and abroad. The Ministry said that revealing the report would amount to breach of privilege of Parliament. The report was prepared by various institutions including the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
