Cyrus Mistry, who was unceremoniously removed from the chairmanship of Tata Sons on 24 Oct, in an explosive e-mail to the company Board and Trustees has alleged that he was only the chairman for namesake. All decisions were taken by Ratan Tata himself. During the board meetings also, executives went out of the meeting to take instructions from Tata. He also alleged that the dream project Tata Nano was a loss-making venture and was not shut down despite his wish to do so. Russia showcases first glimpse of its new super nuke missile
Russia has revealed the first photos of its new super nuke missile that is capable of destroying areas equal in size to entire Britain or France. The increase in Russian missile strength comes at a time when Russia’s relations with the Western world are growing tense by the day. The new missile is likely to go into service by 2018 and will replace the ageing SS-18 Satan weapons. This is a dangerous new development which can have unknown consequences in times to come.

Union Budget to be presented one month early, says PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Union Budget will be presented one month in advance. The decision to present the budget in advance is reportedly taken to ensure the speedy implementation of projects which otherwise would spill over into next fiscal. The Prime Minister has also requested state governments to align their plans in accordance with the proposed advancement of the Union Budget. This move is in tune with Modi's desire to eliminate remnants of the past, in government's functioning.
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा है कि आगामी केन्द्रीय बजट नियत समय से एक माह पहले प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा। कहा जा रहा है कि सरकार का यह कदम परियोजनाओं और योजनाओं का तेजी से क्रियान्वयन सुनिश्चित करने की दृष्टि से उठाया गया है। प्रधानमंत्री ने राज्यों से भी आग्रह किया है कि वे भी केंद्र की इस पहल का लाभ उठाएं।

New Zealand defeated India by 19 runs in the fourth match of the ongoing ODI series and leveled the series 2-2. Batting first, New Zealand scored 260 runs with the help of brilliant knock of 72 runs by Martin Guptill. New Zealand skipper Ken Williamson and Ross Taylor also made useful contributions. Chasing a target of 260 runs, the Indian team could manage to score only 241 runs.

Gender economic equality will take 170 years to bridge – World Economic Forum
The World Economic Forum (WEF), in its study gender gap index, has said that the economic gap between men and women will take another 170 years to bridge. The Forum further said that the progress in this direction has decelerated. Previous year figures predicted this to happen in 118 years. Bad news indeed. Striker Rupinder Pal Singh scored two goals, converting penalty corners, to help India win their last league match against Malaysia by 2 goals to 1. With this win, India have finished at the top of the points table. The Indian defence looked very strong throughout the match with goalkeeper Akash Chikte making some brilliant saves.

Karnataka BJP President B S Yeddyurappa was today acquitted of all corruption charges levelled against him in the alleged Rs. 40 crore mining case. It may be noted here that Mr. Yeddyurappa had to resign as the Karnataka Chief Minister when charges were levelled against him. The BJP had expelled him from the party owing to the corruption charges.

Navjot Sidhu to face trial in 2009 Election case – Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has directed cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu to face trial in a case in which Siddhu’s election had been challenged by the losing candidate. Sidhu had appealed in the Supreme Court against the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s order. This comes at a bad time as Sidhu is struggling to find his political feet in the Punjab elections.
