ISRO to enter record books with 82 launches in one attempt

The hugely successful Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to once again enter the record books when it launches 82 satellites in one go on 15th January, 2017. All of these 82 satellites are foreign, which include 60 from the US, 20 from Europe and 2 from Britain. All these nations will pay ISRO to do this job for them. Currently, Russia holds the record of sending the highest number of satellites in a go. Russia successfully made this attempt on 19th June, 2014 when it launched 37 satellites in one shot. Read TOI

इसरो एक साथ 82 उपग्रहों के प्रक्षेपण के साथ विश्व कीर्तिमान रचने को तैयार 

अगले वर्ष 15 जनवरी को भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) एक साथ 82 उपग्रह प्रक्षेपित करने जा रहा है। ये सभी उपग्रह विदेशी हैं, जिनमें 60 अमेरिका के, 20 यूरोप के और 2 ब्रिटिश उपग्रह शामिल हैं। यदि इसरो का यह प्रयास सफल होता है तो वह एक साथ सर्वाधिक उपग्रह प्रक्षेपित करने वाला विश्व का पहला अंतरिक्ष संगठन बन जाएगा। वर्तमान में यह कीर्तिमान रूस के नाम दर्ज है जिसने जून 2014 में एक साथ 37 उपग्रह प्रक्षेपित किये थे। अमर उजाला देखें

Hillary’s policies on Syria, Russia may lead to WW III – Trump 

The US Presidential election campaign in the final phase has become nasty. Now, 11 days prior to the election process, Republican nominee Donald Trump has severely criticised Hillary Clinton’s tough policies on Syria and Russia, and feared that they may lead to World War III. World’s largest Marine Park to come up in Antarctic Ocean

The Antarctic Ocean is home to more than 10,000 species which include majority of world’s penguins, seabirds, whales, squid and the Antarctic Tooth Fish. Now, twenty-four nations and the European Union (EU) have consented to jointly build the world’s biggest Sea Park in the Ocean which would cover an area of 1.55 million sq.km. It has been further agreed to protect the site from commercial fishing for the next 35 years. Read Reuters news

अंटार्कटिक महासागर में विश्व का सबसे बड़ा समुद्री पार्क बनेगा 

विश्व के 24 देशों और यूरोपीय संघ ने अंटार्कटिक महासागर में विश्व के सबसे समुद्री पार्क के संयुक्त निर्माण पर सहमति दर्शाई है। यह समुद्री उद्यान अंटार्कटिक महासागर के 1.55 मिलियन वर्ग कि.मी. क्षेत्र में विकसित किया जाएगा (१ मिलियन = १० लाख)। ज्ञातव्य है कि अंटार्कटिक महासागर लगभग 10,000 से अधिक प्रजातियों का घर है, जिसमें विश्व के अधिकांश पेंगुइन पक्षी, सीबर्ड, व्हेल, स्क्विड और अंटार्कटिक की टूथ फिश निवास करते हैं। ऑस्ट्रेलिया के सिडनी में हुई बैठक में इस बात पर भी सहमति बनी है कि इस क्षेत्र को अगले 35 वर्षों तक वाणिज्यिक मत्स्यपालन कार्य से संरक्षित किया जाएगा। राजस्थान पत्रिका देखें

Navy to continue with ‘Western Wave’ exercise despite border tension 

The Indian Navy is all set to go ahead with its proposed ‘Paschimi Lahar’ (Western Wave) exercise despite the Indo-Pak tension on the Line of Control (LoC). The major naval exercise would be conducted in the Arabian Sea next week. The navy has also readied itself for action as the Army and Air Force are already in top operational readiness considering the increasing border tension with Pakistan. Read India TV news

Prime Minister Modi has been celebrating  Diwali with the jawans and officers of the security forces ever since he assumed office. Continuing with the practice, this year, he celebrated Diwali with the ITBP personnel posted at one of the remotest forward posts on the Indo – China border in Uttarakhand. Pak Govt. makes adequate security arrangements ahead of Imran Khan’s 02 Nov. protests and bandh

Former Pakistan cricket captain turned politician Imran Khan has told that the protests scheduled for November 2 would go ahead despite Government’s atrocities against protesters ahead of the proposed protest march. He told reporters at his residence that people are enthusiastic about carrying out the protests despite the police atrocities in different parts of the country. Even women protesters have been subjected to brutal police action. He also said that he was virtually put under house arrest, but confirmed that there was no change in the programme. इमरान खान के प्रस्तावित विरोध प्रदर्शनों और बंद के मद्देनजर पाक सरकार ने सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किये 

पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट टीम के भूतपूर्व कप्तान से राजनीतिज्ञ बने इमरान खान ने कहा है कि सरकार और पुलिस द्वारा प्रदर्शनकारियों के विरुद्ध की जा रही बर्बरतापूर्ण कार्रवाई के बावजूद 2 नवंबर का विरोध प्रदर्शन होगा। अपने घर पर संवाददाताओं से बात करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार उनके कार्यक्रम से इतनी डर गई है कि उसने अभी से प्रदर्शनकारियों पर अत्याचार करना शुरू कर दिया है। यहाँ तक कि महिला प्रदर्शनकारियों पर भी पुलिस बर्बरता से अत्याचार कर रही है। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि उन्हें घर में लगभग नजरबंद किया गया है परंतु इन सबके बावजूद उनका कार्यक्रम होगा। इकॉनोमिक टाइम्स देखें

In a recent study on India Customer Service Index 2016 conducted by JD Power, it is revealed that when major automobile companies are struggling to improve their after sales service customer satisfaction, India’s Maruti Suzuki and Japan’s Honda have shown exemplary performance on this front, topping the list. The Men in Blue register their biggest-ever ODI win at home

India defeated New Zealand by 190 runs in the fifth and final one-dayer played at Vishakhapatnam, and won the series by 3-2. Batting first, India made a modest 269 in their allotted 50 overs, with useful contributions from Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. In reply, New Zealand were bundled out for a paltry 79 runs. This was India’s biggest ODI win at home. Spinner Amit Mishra was declared ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Man of the Series’. India beat Pakistan by 3-2 to reclaim the Asian Champions Trophy hockey title

First India defeated South Korea by 5 goals to 4 in the semi-finals of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament. Then India met arch-rivals Pakistan in the finals, where Pakistan had beaten Malaysia in the other semi finals. India prevailed 3-2 over Pakistan to reclaim the Asian Champions Trophy hockey title at Kuantan Malaysia on Sunday. Goals from Rupinder Pal Singh, Yousuf Affan and Nikkin Thimmaiah helped India win, while Pakistan struck two goals through strikes by Muhammad Aleem Bilal and Ali Shan, in the title clash of the fourth edition of the tournament. Read The Hindu

एशियाई चैंपियनशिप में भारत की पाकिस्तान पर ३ - २ से जीत

एशियाई चैंपियनशिप हॉकी के सेमी-फाइनल मुकाबले में पहले भारत ने दक्षिण कोरिया को 4 के मुकाबले 5 गोल से हराते हुए अंतिम मुकाबले में अपना स्थान पक्का कर लिया। रविवार को खेले गए अंतिम मुकाबले में भारत का मुकाबला पाकिस्तान से हुआ, जिसने दूसरे सेमी-फाइनल में मलेशिया को हराया था। भारत ने पाकिस्तान को ३-२ से हरा कर एशियाई चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी हॉकी ख़िताब रविवार को मलेशिया के कुआंतान में जीत लिया। रुपिंदर पाल सिंह, युसूफ अफ्फान और निक्किन थिम्मया के गोलों ने जीत दिलाई, जबकि पाकिस्तान ने दो गोल दागे जो मुहम्मद अलीम बिलाल और अली शान ने किये। इंडिया डॉट कॉम देखें

Indian shooter Heena Sidhu refuses to wear ‘Hijab’, pulls out of Asian Shooting Championship 

Indian women’s awareness about equal rights for women, and women’s dignity is evident in sports as well! Reigning champion and ace Indian shooter Heena Sidhu has pulled out of the Asian Shooting Championship to be held in Iran in December. Her decision to withdraw from the tournament is reportedly against compulsory wearing of ‘hijab’. Congrats Heena for setting a precedent. Read India TV news

UN celebrates Diwali for the first time 

Be it India’s growing influence in world politics, or the popularity of India’s Diwali festival, the United Nations has celebrated Diwali for the first time in its history. India has thanked the UN for this gesture. Earlier, the UN had also accepted PM Modi’s appeal and declared 21st June as International Yoga Day. संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ में पहली बार दिवाली मनाई जा रही है   

इसे विश्व राजनीति में भारत की बढती ताकत कहें या दिवाली के त्यौहार की लोकप्रियता कहें, परंतु यह सत्य है कि अपने 71 वर्ष के लंबे इतिहास में पहली बार इस वर्ष संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ में दिवाली का त्यौहार मनाया जा रहा है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र मुख्यालय के भवन को पारंपरिक ढंग से रोशन किया गया है और बड़े अक्षरों में ‘हैप्पी दिवाली’ लिखा गया है। ज्ञातव्य है कि इससे पूर्व भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री की अपील पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने प्रति वर्ष 21 जून को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के रूप में मनाये जाने की घोषणा की थी। नवभारत टाइम्स देखें

PM Modi’s ‘Man ki Baat’, dedicates this Diwali to Armed Forces 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his ‘Man ki Baat’ through All India Radio. This was the 25th episode of the programme. He said that the India is a country with diversity in all spheres of life. Festivities are observed almost every day. This year, the festival of Diwali had come at a time when there was tension on the borders. People can celebrate festivals peacefully because of our jawans who are protecting the borders with their sacrifice and full might. Three senior executives of Tata Group resign 

After the sudden exit of Cyrus Mistry as the Chairman of Tata group, there seems to be a lot of uncertainty in the group. In a new development, three senior executives of Tata group have resigned from their posts. All the three executives were members of the Group Executive Council, which was disbanded after the exit of Mistry. Read TOI

Ratan Tata, Cyrus Mistry separately meet PM 

Interim Chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata and sacked Chairman Cyrus Mistry met the Prime Minister separately to apprise him about the happenings in the country’s prestigious business group. While Mistry met the PM on Thursday and briefed him about his views of the events, Ratan Tata met him on Friday and briefed him about the board level changes in the group. Read TOI

Nawaz Sharif sacks information minister over rift leak issue  

In a bid to appease the army establishment over the issue of leakage of news of rift between the govt and the army, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has removed his information minister. It may be recollected here that the army chief had given an ultimatum to the Sharif govt. to come out with the name of the person responsible for the leak. Read The Economic Times
