Smog and pollution rise alarmingly high in Delhi
Welcome to the gas chamber Delhi! Even after one week of Diwali, the level of pollution and smog in Delhi is not reducing. As an emergency measure, schools in the capital have been closed. Centre and the Delhi govt. are accusing each other for miseries the people are suffering! Citizens are finding it difficult even to breathe normally, and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued strict warnings on the issue. Change in placement dynamics at IITs; Startups not visible
Placement season for the year is on at most IITs. However, due to the blacklisting episode of the previous year, major startups have not shown keen interest in the placement activity so far. As per reports the presence of startups for placement this year is down by 50%. Major companies like Flipkart, Paytm, Snapdeal and Ola Cabs have not yet signed up. The government has already imposed the highest duties on Tobacco companies to desist people from using them. Now, the Health Ministry has asked the Finance Ministry not to own any stake in tobacco firms. This plea from the Health Ministry has come after criticism from various NGOs that the government was heavily investing in ITC. British PM Theresa May arrives in New Delhi on her first visit to India
British Prime Minister Theresa May has reached New Delhi on her three-day visit to India. She will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries during her visit with Indian leaders. However, before embarking on her flight to New Delhi she rejected appeals to relax Indian visa rules saying that 9 out of 10 Indian applications are already accepted. ब्रिटेन की प्रधानमंत्री थेरेसा मे प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद अपनी पहली भारत यात्रा पर नई दिल्ली पहुँच गई हैं। अपनी तीन-दिवसीय भारत यात्रा के दौरान वे दोनों देशों के बीच द्विपक्षीय संबंधों पर भारत के विभिन्न नेताओं के साथ मुलाकात करेंगी। हालांकि दिल्ली के लिए उड़ान भरने से पूर्व उन्होंने भारतीयों के लिए वीजा नियमों को शिथिल करने से इनकार कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान नीति के तहत पहले ही 10 भारतीय आवेदनों में से 9 स्वीकार किये जा रहे हैं। हालांकि उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि भारतीय व्यापारियों के लिए उनके देश की यात्रा को अधिक आसान बनाया जाएगा। जागरण देखें
