Jammu and Kashmir has been affected by riots and violence for the last four month. This situation had created a sense of uncertainty about the commencement of the Board exams in the minds of the students of the state. However, Board exams in the state began on Monday amidst tight security arrangements. Over 45,000 students have appeared for the class 12 exams whereas another 55,000 students appeared for the class 10 exams. The government and the Board has made elaborate security arrangements. For a change, the Chinese media is all praises for Modi government’s move to demonetise the higher denomination notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000. Global Times has described the move to fight against corruption and black money in the economy as startling and bold. Pakistan army has admitted that it had lost 7 of its soldiers in shelling by the Indian security forces across the LoC. The Indian army has refused to divulge the details of weapons used by it. The Indian army has further clarified that the forces merely responded to unprovoked firing made by the Pak army. Pakistan has unsucessfully asked the international community to pay attention. Government makes airport parking free across India till 21st Nov.
Post demonetisation, due to the non-availability of cash, the government has allowed parking at all airports across the country free of charges. This free-parking facility will be available at all airports of the country till 21st of November. This decision will come in to effect from the midnight of 14th Nov. Opposition to attack government in Parliament on demonetization hardships
The opposition parties are readying themselves to attack the government in the Parliament on the issue of people’s hardships due to currency demonetization. Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee has taken the lead in the matter. She is busy talking to other opposition parties to garner support, even talking to arch-rival Left parties although they do not seem to be in any mood to oblige here.
