The NDA government called an all-party meeting on the eve of the commencement of the winter session of the Parliament. The meeting was attended by senior ministers and the leaders of various political parties. Around 30 protests have been planned by the opposition parties to corner the government on various issues including the issue of demonetisation. The government has also prepared itself to face the opposition. This is a turning point for parliamentary democracy in India as the biggest economic decision has to stand the test of a representative system allegedly destroyed by the cancer of illegal electoral funding. Indian exports witnessed a sharp rise in October, which is the second month of positive growth. The growth in exports was registered at 9.59%. The reason for this sharp growth is the result of increase in the shipment of engineering goods and gems and jewellery. Oil companies cut Petrol prices by Rs.1.46 per litre and diesel prices came down by Rs.1.53. The cut is however exclusive of VAT. The actual cut is higher.
