1. Government issues fresh currency withdrawal norms to balance needs
Five important developments : 1. To help farmers in the Rabi season, now farmers can withdraw up to Rs.25,000 per week from the payment they receive for agriculture produce in form of cheque or RTGS. 2. The time limit for payment of crop insurance premium is increased to 15 days. 3. Registered traders at mandis can withdraw up to Rs.50,000 per week to meet labour costs. All the accounts of farmers and traders must be Know Your Customer (KYC) compliant. 4. The father or mother in a family having a marriage ceremony can make a one-time withdraw of up to Rs.2.5 lakh. 5. To balance this extra outflow, the counter exchange of old Rs.500/1000 notes can now only be Rs.2000 rather than Rs.4500. Read Indian Express

पांच महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय : १. रबी मौसम में किसानों की मदद हेतु अब प्रति सप्ताह रु.२५,००० तक निकाले जा सकेंगे, किन्तु कृषि उत्पाद का भुगतान उन्हें चेक या आर.टी.जी.एस. से लेना होगा। २. फसल बीमा प्रीमियम चुकाने की सीमा १५ दिनों से और बढ़ा दी गयी है। ३. अपनी श्रमिक लागत चुकाने हेतु मंडियों में पंजीकृत ब्रोकर्स (आढ़तिये) प्रति सप्ताह रु.५०,००० निकाल सकेंगे। किन्तु किसानों और ब्रोकर्स के अकाउंट के.वाय.सी. होने चाहिए। ४. किसी शादी समारोह वाले परिवार में पिता या माता एक बार में रु.२.५ लाख निकाल पाएंगे। ५. इस अतिरिक्त प्रवाह को संतुलित करने हेतु, अब काउंटर पर पुराने ५००/१००० के नोटों को बदलने की सीमा केवल रु.२००० कर दी गयी है। राजस्थान पत्रिका देखें2. India’s neighbour and friend Bangladesh has received delivery of two submarines from China. This deal between reflects the country’s increasing economic and defence ties with China. 5. Government hikes Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat, pulses
The government has raised the MSP for crops to be sown during the rabi season. Whereas, the hike is fairly substantial in case of pulses, the most common source of proteins for most Indians, the hike for wheat is modest. MSP for the best variety of wheat has been raised by Rs.100, thus making it Rs. 1625 per quintal. MSP for the most expensive pulses variety has been raised by Rs. 550. Pakistan’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz will visit India next month to attend the Heart of Asia Conference. This will be the first visit by a senior official from Pakistan after the recent Uri terrorist attack. The Heart of Asia Conference will be held in Amritsar on December 3. South Africa defeated Australia in the second test by an innings and 80 runs to clinch the three-test series. Australia were bowled out for a paltry 85 runs in the first innings. Earlier, they had lost the first test at Perth by 177 runs. This is Australia’s fifth straight defeat in as many tests. Earlier they had lost to Sri Lanka 0 – 3. External Affairs Minister Mrs. Sushma Swaraj is suffering from kidney failure and is currently on dialysis at AIIMS. She was admitted to AIIMS on November 7 for treatment, and is under observation since then. Mrs. Swaraj has been suffering from diabetes for the past almost 20 years, which has affected her kidney functioning. She is currently undergoing tests for a kidney transplant. Read TOI

The deal between Essar Oil of India and the consortium led by Rosneft was salvaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian consortium had initially offered half the amount of what they finally paid. An amount of $ 13 billion was paid to Essar by Rosneft after Saudi firm Aramco came in. Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka has said that Indian IT companies are likely to face tough times ahead after Donald Trump’s victory and the prospects of change in work visa rules in the US. Meanwhile, the new visa rules in Britain will also hit the Indian IT industry. He, however, said that the problems may be short term.
