According to US Geological Survey, the earthquake was measured 4.2 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake was Bawal in Rewari district of Haryana. Bawal is around 100 km from Delhi. First indigenously built unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UAV) Rustom 2 successfully completed a test flight. This is a big push to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India plan. Rustom 2 has been built seven years after Rustom 1. The medium altitude unmanned aerial vehicle is comparable to the American Predator drone. It is capable of flying for 24 hours at a stretch. A large stretch of road was swallowed by a massive sinkhole in the coastal city of Fukuoka, which was 98 ft long and 49 ft deep. 5. India’s auto sector can generate over 6.5 crore jobs over the decade
Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa has said that India’s auto industry has the capacity of generating over 6.5 crore fresh jobs over the next decade. He further said that the industry has contributed around $35 billion in the country’s economy during the last decade. Major commercial banks in the country, including State Bank of India, Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank have cut their fixed deposit rates with immediate effect. With huge amount of cash pouring in banks after demonetization, banks needed to reduce their deposit rates in order to pass on the benefits of Reserve Bank rate cut to their borrowers (i.e. those who borrow from Banks).
