A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Western Argentina on Sunday evening. The tremors of the quake were felt as far off as Santiago, the capital city of neighbouring Chile. There were no immediate reports of any damage to life and property. There was no warning of tsunami after the quake. 4. Lucknow-Agra Expressway inaugurated with landing of 6 fighter jets
The 302 km long Lucknow-Agra Expressway, built in a record 23 months, was inaugurated by Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. It has been opened to public from Monday. The expressway is expected to reduce travel time between state capital Lucknow and New Delhi from the present nine hours to five hours. 6. Largest-ever 'Made-in-India' warship INS Chennai commissioned
INS Chennai is India’s largest indigenously built Kolkata class war-ship. The ship was commissioned in the Indian Navy in Mumbai Dockyard by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday. Naval Chief Admiral Sunil Lamba was also present on the occasion. The ship is equipped with a decoy that has the ability to divert a missile attack. The Indian armed forces successfully test-fired two nuclear capable missiles from two mobile launchers at a defence test facility in Balasore in Odisha. The indigenously developed surface-to-surface medium range ballistic missiles were fired simultaneously at 9.37 AM and 9.38 AM respectively. Both missiles have a fire range of 350 km.
