• 1. Indian armed forces, especially the army has a severe deficiency in night-fighting capabilities as they lack night vision devices in sufficient numbers
  2. Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) is the biggest indigenous supplier of night vision equipment to the Armed Forces
  3. Assam Rifles, formed in 1835, is the oldest paramilitary force in India
  4. Indian Army controls the highest battle ground in the world in the Siachen glacier (6000+ m)
  5. India and Russia are working on development of a fifth generation fighter plane
  6. BrahMos – II is a hypsersonic cruise missile under joint development by DRDO and Russia's NPO Mashinostroeyenia. United States, China, India and Russia are the only countries working on hypersonic cruise missiles.
