Iran has offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. The offer was made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Zafri in New Delhi on Saturday. Mr.Zafri, who is in India for the Heart of Asia Conference, noted that their country enjoyed cordial relations with both India and Pakistan, and since both countries were important for Iran, they would not like to lose them, and that the three countries share common ideas of future democracy. 4. Money belongs to 'big' fish, says bizman who declared 13,860 cr
Mahesh Shah, the land dealer from Ahmedabad, who declared 13,860 crore under the voluntary disclosure scheme, appeared on TV in Ahmedabad after being untraceable for the last two days. He revealed that the money disclosed belonged to a group of big, powerful and influential people. The I.T. department initiated search operations after he failed to deposit the first instalment till November 28. When Pakistan PM’s foreign affairs adviser Sartaj Aziz preponed his India visit, the stated reason was early morning fog. However, it looked like Pakistan was keen to restart dialogue amidst rising tension. Aziz had only brief discussions with Indian NSA Ajit Doval after the dinner in honour of visiting dignitaries at Heart of Asia Conference. The Amritsar Declaration reads : "We recognize the necessity of taking serious measures to address recruitment of youth to extremist and terrorist networks. International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the official release of special semi dwarf rice variety RI-8 to Asia and the world. The special variety was developed by IRRI in the early 1960s which saved many regions of Asia from famine ever since its release in 1966.
